Fundraiser in preparation

Help build a practical simulator fleet for Mission Motorsport.

Forrest Motorsport is supporting a bootstrapped appeal to help Mission Motorsport build a mixed fleet of up to four motorsport simulator rigs using donated equipment, sponsored components, refurbished hardware and practical commercial support.

This project is about getting useful simulators built, not waiting for a perfect matching specification. Every donated wheel, pedal set, PC, display, chassis, headset, software key or service contribution can help move the fleet forward.

Some equipment may be used directly. Some may be upgraded. Some may be sold to raise funds for the build. The aim is a flexible fleet Mission Motorsport can use at events, fundraising, training and community engagement days.

Final donation routes, sponsor recognition and use of Mission Motorsport assets to be confirmed with Mission Motorsport before launch.

Why it matters

A Practical Simulator Fleet, Built the Motorsport Way

A mixed-build fleet lets the project start sooner, use more donated equipment, and grow in stages as support arrives.

The original idea was to build four matching simulator rigs. In reality, a mixed-build approach is more practical, more honest and more useful for a bootstrapped project.

Motorsport has always been built around resourcefulness. Teams use what they have, improve what they can, repair what is worth saving and keep moving forward. That same mindset suits this appeal perfectly.

A donated gaming PC, an older wheelbase, a spare display, a pedal set, a cockpit frame, a headset, a graphics card, software licences or even a box of useful cables can all play a part. Some items may be used directly in the fleet. Some may become spares. Some may be upgraded. Some may be sold to help fund missing parts.

The goal is not perfection on day one. The goal is progress.

Each simulator station can have its own role. One rig may become the stronger public event station. Another may be better suited to training. Another may start as a simple engagement rig and improve over time. The important thing is that every rig is safe, tested, usable and genuinely useful.

This approach makes it easier for individuals, sim racers, companies, suppliers and supporters to contribute. They do not need to provide a complete system or a perfect matching component. A single useful item can still move the build forward.

A mixed simulator fleet also creates a stronger story. Each rig can develop its own character, name, purpose and build history. Supporters can see how their contribution fits into the wider project, whether it helped complete a rig, close a gap, create a spare, support transport or raise money through resale.

This is a practical motorsport project. It is not a luxury hardware build. It is about turning available support into a fleet that Mission Motorsport can use for events, engagement, training, fundraising and community activity.

The fleet can start small, improve steadily and grow as the community gets behind it.

01

Start with what is available

The mixed-build approach means the project can begin with useful equipment already available in the community. Older hardware, spare parts and surplus stock can still have real value when tested, allocated properly and used in the right role.

02

Build each rig around its best use

Not every simulator station needs to do the same job. One rig may be suited to public events, one to training, one to youth engagement and one to development or backup use. This makes the fleet more flexible and easier to improve over time.

03

Turn small contributions into visible progress

A screen, a wheelbase, a pedal set, a GPU, a headset, a software key or a transport offer may seem small on its own, but each contribution can close a real gap in the build. The public tracker should show how these contributions move the project forward.

Every useful contribution has a place: in the fleet, in the spares pool, in the resale fund, or in the next stage of the build.

The fleet

The Initial Goal: Up to Four Practical Simulator Stations

The fleet can be built progressively. Each station may have a different specification depending on what is donated, sponsored or funded. The important requirement is that each simulator is safe, tested, usable and suitable for the intended activity. Some rigs may be better suited to public events, some to training, and some may be starter rigs that improve over time.

Ways to help

Four Ways You Can Help Build the Fleet

Donate Money

Direct financial donations can help fund the core simulator fleet — rig hardware, PCs, displays, cabling, transport protection, setup and maintenance.

Use the official donation route approved by Mission Motorsport.

Donate to the Fundraiser

Donate Unused Sim Equipment

Wheels, pedals, shifters, seats, button boxes, monitors, PCs and parts may be usable in the build, or sold to raise ring-fenced funds for the project.

Offer Equipment

Offer Business Support

Businesses can donate equipment, fund parts, offer services or help source items for the mixed-build fleet. No fixed sponsorship tier required.

Help With Services

Support can also come through logistics, photography, video, eBay listing support, refurbishment, storage, printing, media, transport or event staffing.

Turn Unused Sim Gear Into Mission Motorsport Support

Because this is a mixed-build fleet, a wider range of equipment can help. We are interested in complete systems, individual components, older but working hardware, spare displays, gaming PCs, controls, cockpits, seats, audio equipment, software keys, tools and transport support. If an item is not right for the fleet, it may still help by being sold to raise funds for missing parts.

  1. 01
    Offer

Tell us what equipment you have and upload photos.

  2. 02
    Assess

Forrest Motorsport reviews whether the item is suitable for the fleet, resale or recycling.

  3. 03
    Test

Usable items are checked for condition, compatibility and safety.

  4. 04
    Use or Sell

Items may be used in the project or sold through an approved eBay charity route.

  5. 05
    Report

The campaign tracker is updated so supporters can see what was donated, sold or added to the fleet.

Equipment accepted for resale should be logged, photographed and tracked. Sale proceeds should be recorded against the simulator fleet fundraiser and handled through the approved Mission Motorsport fundraising process.

Business donations & practical support

Commercial Support: Help Move the Build Forward

Businesses can support the Mission Motorsport Simulator Fleet Appeal in many practical ways. This is a bootstrapped mixed-build project, so useful support does not have to fit a fixed sponsorship tier. A donated screen, gaming PC, wheelbase, pedal set, software licence, cable bundle, headset, GPU, transport support, storage space or financial contribution can all help move the fleet forward.

The aim is simple: turn available commercial support into safe, usable simulator stations that can be used for events, engagement, fundraising, training and community activity. This is not about buying a sponsorship package. It is about contributing something useful to a proud motorsport project.

Equipment donations

Businesses can donate simulator hardware, new or used, that may be suitable for the fleet, future upgrades or resale fundraising.

The human story

Motorsport Can Be More Than Motorsport

For many people, motorsport is competition. For Mission Motorsport, it is also a way to create structure, teamwork, purpose, confidence and opportunity. A simulator fleet cannot replace the power of real motorsport, but it can extend access, create more touchpoints and help the charity bring meaningful engagement to more events and more people.

Recovery Activity

A structured challenge that can be adapted to different confidence levels and abilities.

Skills and Focus

Driving, setup, communication, concentration and progression all create useful learning moments.

Community

A shared motorsport experience for beneficiaries, families, supporters, volunteers and sponsors.

Real beneficiary stories require Mission Motorsport approval before publication.

Race of Remembrance

Inspired by the Spirit of Race of Remembrance

Race of Remembrance shows how motorsport can bring together remembrance, resilience, community and competition. This simulator fleet fundraiser is separate from Race of Remembrance, but it is inspired by the same belief that motorsport can be a powerful force for connection and support.
